To support in realising the ambitious goals for the team, we are seeking to appoint an experienced product leader to define, prioritise and execute on the strategic product roadmap.

Product methods & tools: you have a strong track record of envisioning, developing and building successful consumer-facing products, ideally in an online service marketplace, e-commerce environment or subscription business. You are able to define and explain a product strategy for your area to senior stakeholders

Customer mindset: you have the ability to quickly understand customer needs and turn them into remarkable products. You are experienced in generating and interpreting insights with user research and product discovery to provide the voice of the customer, creating the right stories that give our users what they need (and not just what they want).

Analytical communicator: your message is crisp, clear and to the point. You involve your relevant stakeholders timely along the product development process. In addition, you bring the analytical skills and rigour to analyse large sets of data, evaluate opportunities and autonomously make well-founded product decisions.

Business Acumen: you have a deep understanding of connecting input KPIs with business/output KPIs, you can read a P&L, understand customer acquisition costs and are able to discuss CLV contributions from an acquisition point of view .

Effective networker: you can own and drive topics without much central steering. You build your personal network and identify interdependencies or sources of mutual value to create optimal solutions.

Continuous learner: You define your own KPIs in order to measure your impact and the success of the product. You have the passion and drive to keep up with product innovations, whilst refining your toolset and at the same time mentoring your colleagues.

Product Leadership: Be one of the most senior individual contributors in the Product Job Family at Zalando. You bring a minimum of 8+ years of experience building and leading products in product centric organisations, 10+ years of overall relevant experience and have a proven track record of creating customer value.

Strategic Vision : In line with the Zalando Plus strategy, you help us take the membership experience to the next level.

Technical Background: We expect you to fly high and dive deep. Strong hands on experience and leadership experience in product management is needed.

WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED

Define product strategy, roadmap and backlog for your own area and drive meaningful impact for the customer and business by delivering on them successfully and quickly across the customer journey
Collaborate closely with business stakeholders and across teams and functions to identify strategic priorities based on delivering superior customer value and creating business impact
Backup your intuition, ideas and decisions through data-driven insights, a high degree of customer empathy and a thorough understanding of market specific trends and customer behaviour
Involve and engage commercial stakeholders across all phases of product development, share updates, foster alignment and secure buy-in for decisions
Author all important product documents including a product roadmap, working backwards press releases, definition of business requirements, as well as functional specifications
Define KPIs for your area, understand how they impact our business performance long-term and monitor success over time
