Senior Fullstack TypeScript Developer

Build the software that runs a construction business.

We run insulation operations at scale, from the first customer contact to the finished installation, and we are building an AI system that runs every process behind it. Now we are building it for everyone else in European trade.

You'll own Blue, our platform for external construction and craft businesses: the software that lets them run their core business on autopilot. It started as our partner portal and has grown into B2B software. You'll turn it into a product that scales.

You talk to the businesses using it, decide what gets built, design it and ship it.

Own Blue end to end, from data model to UI. Today it connects VARM with the craft partners who install for us. Your job is to grow it into the system those businesses run their own company on.

Humans stay in the loop where it matters. Our AI system is built on the knowledge of thousands of past projects, and we plan to post-train our own model on it. You contribute where that intelligence shows up in your product and build the bridge between the model and the people using it.

You have 5+ years of experience building and shipping real software products, ideally in a VC-funded startup or similarly fast-moving environment

You are strong across the stack, including TypeScript, modern frontend frameworks, backend systems, APIs and SQL

You have integrated AI into production software, whether LLM APIs, RAG, agents or similar, and understand what it takes to make it reliable for real users

You actively use AI and agentic coding to develop faster, but still care about code quality, architecture and knowing when not to use an LLM

Bonus:

Working proficiency in German is a plus, since many of the businesses you build for speak German

Work in an environment where AI is part of how we build every day, not an occasional experiment

• Build software used in real-world operations and see how your work impacts efficiency, growth and revenue
• A permanent contract at a company that just raised a €17.5M Series A. Hybrid, with work-from-home flexibility, but close enough that we still see each other.
• ️ 30 days of vacation: Whether it’s a long summer break, a long weekend in between or just three days in a row without your laptop, you’ll never have to fight for your time off.
• Team events make room for informal exchange beyond day-to-day business. And because growth doesn’t work without honest feedback, you’ll get it continuously: direct, constructive and not just once a year in a review.
• VARM is one of Europe’s fastest-growing climate-tech startups, based in Berlin. We strive to create a friendly, safe and welcoming environment for all our employees, regardless of ethnic origin, gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disabilities and abilities of any kind, physical appearance, social background, marital status, age or religion (or lack thereof).
